A glorious July indeed! And we are to welcome an august August. To remember that sacred moment of 1872 when Light touched earth impregnating it with incomprehensible possibilities.

[Among the great events of the twentieth century, none promised to have more lasting consequences for vast numbers of people than India’s attainment of independence on 15 August 1947. The lifting of the yoke of foreign rule from hundreds of millions in the subcontinent was followed by the rapid decolonization of the rest of Asia and Africa.
