Stoop to conquer

Why Ramdev and Hazare didn’t succeed? For the simple reason that their priorities were manipulated in an ad hoc fashion without any sense of a definite direction. On the other hand, Akhilesh snatched victory from the jaws of a chaotic electoral scene in UP. Management consultants are everywhere, behind every success story, these days.

We have pointed out from the very outset that the anti-Heehs team in Puducherry is following an evident defective strategy. Their warfare, so far, gives the impression of an amateur as assessing the efficacy of weapons employed has come a cropper. To be fair to them, they have just reacted to latest events within severe constraints, but some of their steps can surely be seen as jumping the gun.

For instance, the normal course should have followed civil discourse, then political action, and finally, the legal recourse. But, a bit of hubris took over a few, and after three long years they have achieved practically nothing. Rather, those who were drawn to the forefront of the campaign (or, brought from Odisha) are facing the music. The role of the leader in restricting casualties is most sacrosanct, and the team must ponder over the same. [TNM55]
